We are disappointed to see that elected officials are proposing at tonight’s borough council meeting to continue to allow apartments to be eliminated in order to create larger units in buildings of four units or less. The vast majority of fusions of apartments and the évictions that they cause will therefore continue to be permitted.

During the evening of consultation, two-thirds of participants asked for a stronger bylaw in order to protect these kinds of evictions. Despite this, elected officials do not foresee meetings these demands.
