An initiative of the CACV, supported by the Collective Impact Project of Centraide and by the Verdun community, led to the arrival of SOLIDES in the neighbourhood in 2019. This non-profit organisation has the mission or purchasing and renovating or building housing that will be rented to people with low or modest revenues.
On December 11th 2020, we were with them for the announcement of the purchase of a second building in Verdun, this time with the support of the City of Montreal. The apartments will therefore remain affordable and the building will be managed in a way that responds to community needs rather than for profit.
